Tony is a British Wheel of Yoga teacher who as been practising Yoga for over 26 years and is now in his 14th year of teaching. As well as the primary series his personal sadhana (spiritual practice) consist of japa, mantra; pranayama and (vipassana) meditation. Tony has practiced in Mysore, India under Sri Pattabhi Jois and Sharatf, 2005. He has studied and practiced with some of the best Ashtanga teachers, John Crawford Scott being his main teacher but also Danny Paradise and many others. He has attended Nancy GiIgoff’s Adjustment Clinic in Prague. And obtained an Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Certificate under the direction of David Swenson. Other teachers’ incl Jayne Orton (Iyengar) & Jane Degraaf (Pranayama).

Surya namaskara is the foundation of this yoga tradition and it is within this aspect that we shall explore the other principles & practice of the form. We will observe the components: ujjayi breath, bandha, dhrishi and vinyasa (breath & movement synchronisation) that is connecting each posture. Breath is the thread on which each posture is placed to create a necklace of postures. Also we will practice the cooling sequence to balance followed by the five finishing postures and pranayama to (re)seal excess energy. Other areas covered in this
workshop are economy of movement; lines of energy; the jump back to and to. The session will cumulate in a sitting meditation and short relaxation.
